In December, Korg released a teaser about the recreation of an iconic synthesizer and we said that time that it will be definitely a new VST instrument in their Collection of software instruments. We also saw in the blur that the new “remake” will be Korg Triton, one of the best workstations from Korg.
Today, it is a fact. The new VSTi that become part of Korg Collection is indeed Korg Triton.
What is Korg Triton VSTi?
According to Korg team, Korg Triton VSTi emulates exactly the real instrument, recreating the functions of the workstation and also the sampler part of Triton in the digital world. Virtual Korh Triton, if we can name it this way, comes also with HI Synthesis Enginge (Hyper Integrated Synthesis) and brings also 4000 presets (the ones that comes in the integrated memory of Triton an also the ones that comes on the EXB-PCM expansions cards).
Korg says in the press release that each voice presets is completely identical with the one found in the keyboard workstation.
Features of Korg Triton VSTi
Korg Triton, the original hardware keyboard workstation works with high quality PCM samples and it is offering two types of filters, 5 FX and two master FX and an EQ on the master bus. There is also a combo mode function that give the possibility to combine up to 8 layers of voices for simultaneous play. All these features comes also in the VSTi form of Korg Triton and more, all these functions are a lot easier to use.
The polyphonic arpeggiator of Korg Triton has been also translated to vitual Korg. The arpeggiator has now a lot of new patterns included. The only thing that you cannot find in the Korg Triton VST Instruments is the 16-track sequencer which is indeed irrelevant in these day, with all that complete functions that almost all the DAWs have in this part of things.
