Plugin Alliance has released today Lindell TE-100 EQ plugin, an emulation plugin of one of the most known tube equalizers in the history.

TE-100 is the almost perfect emulation of Klein & Hummel’s UE-100 EQ Unit

In 1961, Klein & Hummel’s has unveiled UE-100, an all tube equalizer which used six filter modules to create a dynamic band-pass curves for that warm response on any audio track or bus and most of all on master summing track by boosting or / and cutting certain frequencies.

Lindell Te-100 EQ plugin emulates that Germain monster EQ machine for only $149. You don’t have to pay $20,000 for a stereo unit of Klein & Hummel’s EQ Hardware “plant”. The recreation of the UE-100 is almost on-to-one on Lindell Audio TE-100 EQ plugin as Plugin Aliance press release states.

The Klein and Hummel’s UE-100 EQ machine delivered that warm sound from a total of 14 vacuum tubes going into 8 musical bands of equalization from the classic Runfunk broadcasting EQ. TE-100 from Lindell Audio simulates that behavior as close as it can be in software part of things including the “workflow” by having a Pultec Style Band-Pass Curves which let the engineer cut and / or boost at coincident frequencies as the original hardware EQ. Low-Pass and High-Pass knob are sideways on the TE-100 interface while the dual parametric Band-Pass filters are in the mid section. The push button frequency allow you to select accurately a specific frequency.

More features on Lindell Audio TE-100 Plugin

More than emulating the original hardware EQ, TE-100 EQ brings a lot of modern functions from the digital domain. Level Calibration and Adjustable Oversampling are just two examples of that features. The Analog Mode of TE-100 emulates the process of over driving the transformer of the hardware along with the noise floor. The best thing is that the transformer over-driving is independent of the filters circuit. The filters can be bypassed and disabled while you can use only that warm of over-driving.
