Priceless !!! It may seem like a good joke (I thought it initially), but it is not. It’s for real. Solid State Logic<\/strong> has announced the release of SiX console<\/strong> which I think it will become in a very short time a must-have in every recording studio especially where the budget for equipment is not so high. And not only, I guess !!! All I hope is that SSL<\/strong> will continue this fantastic line to, maybe, a SSL TeN <\/strong>or SSL SiXteen<\/strong> but there are poor chances, unfortunately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming back to the main subject, Solid State Logic SiX<\/strong> is almost everything you like or you want from an SSL console<\/strong> but in a small format and, most important, the SSL Six price is only \u00a3999 +VAT or $1499+Tax or \u20ac1199 +Tax. The price was unbelievable when I first saw the news. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that it comes with just two microphone channels and a total of 6 inputs makes it ideal, perfect for studio applications but unused in most of the LIVESOUND setups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We leave our opinions aside and move on to extraordinary things about Solid State Logic SiX<\/strong>. God seems to have give us a finger, and we want the whole hand, and I am convinced that I will not be the only one to experience this feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SSL SiX<\/strong> comes with two microphone inputs with SuperAnalogue<\/strong> preamplifiers. Not designed by, not powered by, not like \u2026 those. These are the preamps you find on the large, classical consoles like SSL AWS 984 (the price is about $100,000), SSL AWS 924 (the price is about $80,000), SSL AWS 914 (the price is about $70,000), or on the new wave mixing consoles like SSL XL-DESK or SSL MATRIX 2. So basically on SSL SiX, you get the original sonic signature from the large format consoles in the backpack, and at a price, I say It is unbeatable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both microphone inputs also have the rest of the channel strip in a version, let’s say it, essential, lite. There is a Compressor and an EQ there, more than enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
